Astrology for Thursday, October 15

Mercury is retrograde...it went retrograde Tuesday, and will remain retrograde until midday Election Day. When Mercury is Retrograde, old issues often come up for review. Trump's administration has resurrected some old conspiracy theories, perhaps in an effort to distract the public from non-handling of the coronavirus pandemic, his bad poll numbers, or the GOP Senate's insistence on installing a Supreme Court Justice now - instead of focusing on a relief package.
That would be timely since she might be helpful in overturning old issues, such as Roe v. Wade or the Affordable Care Act. Sure, the GOP should have a right to do that although they would not even accord Merrick Garland a hearing ten months before an election. We have people voting now, but the GOP does not seem to consider it necessary to let a little thing like an election and letting the people have a say matter.
Meanwhile, no movement on a stimulus that helps anyone substantively except the rich. So near Halloween, we are haunted by the ghosts of past issues, even as there is no relief in sight for Joe on the street.
This is an unusually contentious Mercury retrograde in Scorpio since most of Mercury's motion will oppose the planetary wild card, Uranus in Taurus. That pulls in another dimension of the unexpected. As Nelson Mandela said, "Everything is impossible until it isn't." Unexpected happenings could occur and will. New insights into old issues will unfold. And the financial sector will not be immune - Taurus is a sign of finances and security. Mercury will retreat from Scorpio into Libra on October 27. That date could bring a surprise announcement.
The Sun in Libra is dead square Pluto right now and opposite Mars and Eris in Aries. Buckle up, Buttercup. October will be a bumpy ride, but it will contain surprises and insights for sure.
And never forget that, reinforcing the need of surprises, that the transiting nodes in Gemini/Sagittarius are squaring both transiting Neptune. This is an instability. And to top it off, those transiting nodes are on top of Donald Trump's Sun/North Node/Uranus in Gemini and opposing his Moon/South Node in Sagittarius. He will feel this personally. I'd be quite surprised if he escapes further health issues this month.
