Year of the Dragon, Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day & Lent

This week marks a lot - Chinese New Year (aptly named Year of the Dragon, I think), Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day, Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. The charts for the week seem to reflect that energy - varied, a bit chaotic.

Since we mentioned Valentine's Day, Venus, planet of love and relationships, occupying the sign Capricorn, is trine Uranus in Taurus.Venus in Capricorn implies an appreciation of all the finer things in life, a love of moody, but well heeled partners. The addition of Uranus in Taurus to the mix brings unexpected, sudden developments and a need for freedom.

Venus is also very near two planets in Aquarius (this also draws in Uranus energy because Uranus rules the sign Aquarius) that add some heat and a little obsession to the love mix: Pluto and Mars in Aquarius. Pluto can be obsessive in getting what it wants; Mars can be impatient and fiery, full of desire. This may feel like very impetuous, obsessive and hot desire. One party may be all in and a little too close for comfort given the others desire for space! Conversely, one party may be obsessed with their own need for freedom while the other needs the walls and limits of a more traditional relationship. But the partnership has a greater chance than normal of reconciling the need for traditional norms and independence.

Translate that into world events. The planet Chiron in Aries asks us who we will be? What do we stand for? Autocrats? Oligarch? Demoracies? To know that, we will have to face our self inflicted wounds an move forward into the future.

There is a lot of tension between the rule of law (Saturn in Pisces sextile compassionate Jupiter in Taurus) and. a desire for peace vs. The obsessive need to be the power and control things (Venus in Capricorn conjunct Pluto and Mars in Uranus trine Uranus in Taurus). The far right resists control by the rule of law.

The tension between the Executive Branch, Congress and the Far Right is symbolized by Sun in Aquarius (Executive Branch), Mars and Pluto in Aquarius (Congress) and Uranus in Taurus (Far Right). The media will continue to be under fire (Mercury in Aquarius square Uranus in Aquarius). When I think of dragons, I think of conflict. The early part of the week will see The God of the Underworld (Pluto) being fused with the God ofWar (Aries), and that is always a little scary to me. Positively, this can be very passionate; negatively, it can be obsessively aggressive.

In this fraught time, keep your vibration high and full of love for all. If life were a recipe, we are in the "stirring" phase with no clear ending in sight. But there will be. The logjam should begin to break as we have the annual solar eclipse over the US in April and on April 20th, the historic union of Jupiter (Opportunity) and Uranus (the paradigm shifter) in Taurus (sign of the Earth). Things will begin to break in April, continued by the emergence of Jupiter into Gemini in June.
