Scorpio’s New Moon Conjunct Mercury Retrograde

In the early morning hours of November 20, 2025, just before the Sun leaves Scorpio for the sign Sagittarius, we will have a new Moon in Scorpio. At the New Moon, the Sun and Moon join and seed a period favoring new beginnings. Mercury is conjunct the Sun and Moon in Scorpio, but it is retrograde (reverse motion), and the recommendation is always to review during a retrograde, not initiate. So these two developments seem to be in conflict. Sun and Moon have a foot on the gas while Mercury has put the car in reverse.
Despite appearances, these planets can work together. These planets are in Scorpio, the great psychological detective and uncoverer of secrets. Scorpio is a very sexual sign, and those secrets potentially pertain to sexual exploitation as well as power games of the rich and famous. The Sun/Moon initiating activity can uncover secrets that have a history (a retrograde planet reviews the past). One example that leaps to mind is the interest in the Epstein files. A desire to uncover secrets (past) and deal with their consequences going forward (New Moon). In that case, the turf is very much about sexual exploitation.
The stars are very active this fall. At the time of the New Moon, there is an exact sextile (a building excitement) between Uranus at 29 degrees Taurus and Neptune at 29 degrees at 29 Pisces. Like Scorpio, Neptune can harbor secrets, sometimes scandals. Uranus in Taurus is insightful and can upset the status quo. Again, exposure of thr Epstein scandals and the names of the rich and powerful, fit the bill. Uranus is more loosely sextile Jupiter in Cancer. Jupiter makes everything bigger and more expansive. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, representing women. With these aspects, the female victims of the Epstein scandal have some wind beneath their wings.
At 29 degrees Taurus, Uranus is opposed by the Sun/Moon/Mercury in Scorpio. The major lights see with Uranian clarity that which has been hidden. There is an opposition between Pluto in Aquarius and Jupiter in Cancer, pitting powerful and manipulative forces against the truth about women. Again, the Epstein files seem to fit.
a lot more is happening - two grand water trines in the feeling and intuitive water signs, one involving Venus in Scorpio, the other the Moon in Scorpio - both feminine planets. There are two fortunate kites and one mystic rectangle. Forces seem ripe for revelation about secrets involving women.
Of course, this is only one interpretation of how these planetary patterns will manifest, and this is on a macro level. On a micro level, involving yourself, your natal planets, the meaning is similar, but scaled down to a personal level. Where have you had a history that needs attention and insight now? Where have you been a victim of or a party to power games or manipulation that may have been masquerading as your growth, but could be more authentic and truly widen your horizons?
The signifigance of these events will be major or minor, depending on the makeup of your natal planets and which houses are affected - Career? Love? Romance? Health? You can always book a reading with me to find out more about the impact to your own chart.
in case i don't write again before the holiday, Happy Thanksgiving!
