Eclipse Season Arrives August 12

We have experienced so many astrological events that are rare since Neptune and Saturn entered Aries on February 20, we may all feel a little tired, wired and frazzled, hopeful and by turns despairing. If you feel that way, you are not alone.

And get ready for more! Eclipse season has arrived! Primitive people used to be afraid when the Moon "swallowed" the Sun's light, fearing it portended all sorts of problems. In truth, we regu;arly have two eclipse seasons every year. An eclipse happens, Solar or Lunar, when the Sun or Moon get very close to the Nodes of the Moon. The Nodes of the Moon are where the Moon's tentacles engage with the zodiac ecliptic. Where feelings (Moon) meet the plane of reality. The Nodes often have a fated feeling, as though karma has been stirred up regarding the planets, house or sign involved in the eclipse.

August has been loaded with the energy of the opposition between transiting Jupiter in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. The Sun and Moon also being in Leo highlights the individual - what and how can I create? Will my inner king or queen be appreciated? Jupiter, also in Leo, is inviting us to grab the opportunities we may not have felt we could handle before! Pluto in Aquarius is asking another question - what shadow beliefs haunt me, need to be made conscious and released, so that I can be supported for being my authentic self? What can I bring to the collective?

Eclipses flip the script. The Sun's dominance is overtaken by the Moon. On one hand, the Sun represents the Executive Branch (or our own Executive Function) of Government. The Moon represents the will of the masses of people, and running on feelings and instinct, not solar rationality.

We are to release the Leo need for external validation and look at how we fit with everyone else, because every person counts. This is a natural process - evaluating where we are and whether or not we have the right ideas to move forward into the future. The fated feeling comes in as people "feel" that it is time to discard things that are no longer useful and find things that will be.

The path of totality will go over Greenland, Iceland, Northern Spain and part of Portugal but will be partially observable in a wider swath. This is important, because events triggered by an eclipse tend to occur in the path of the eclipse.

Solar eclipses create sensitive spots that remain sensitive for 3 - 4 years. This eclipse occurs at 20 degrees 8 minutes of Leo, so if you have personal planets or angles at 20 degrees Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius or Taurus, you may experience this eclipse point more strongly than others. Things do not usually happen the moment of an event like an eclipse.  It is a sensitive spot that often gts triggered by another planet.

The Sabian Symbol (there is one for every degree of the zodiac) is "getting out of our own way" to let the future come in. Pretty good description!
