Mercury Goes Retrograde!

Before I start my Mercury Retrograde blog, I want to let you know I will be teaching Astrology 101 at First House in Webster Groves this Thursday, March 5, at 6 - 7:30 pm. This is a great way to begin to use astrology to understand yourself and the world better! We will meet on March 5 & 14 and April 2 & 16. You will come away with understanding the first phrase of astrology: Planets, Signs and Houses. We will also learn about the Elements, Modes and Aspects. This class is required for a series I will be teaching this fall on Transits (what is in the sky right now) and Progressions (How you have grown). Some people call this predictive astrology, but I don't. I think of it as Making Choices (informed ones!). The cost for this spring's Astrology 101 series of 4 classes is $160. Register quickly. Class size is very small, which is good, because we will be drawing our examples from charts for people in class. If you can't make the meetings, but want an taped replay, that can work, too. Hope to see some of you there!
Mercury is Retrograde today!
What does it mean when Mercury goes retrograde. It is a time to use the "r: words: review, reassess and redirect. Like Mercury, this is a period when we are going over ground we have walked on before. Mercury retrograde can actually be quite helpful, despite its thorny reputation, in finding something you missed the first time - a different perception develops.
The Universe is asking you to slow down. If you don't do this on your own, you may lose keys, clients don't show up on time or miss appointments altogether. Or, famously, the technology you use does strange or unreliable things. Molehills look like mountains during the retrograde, but your perspective shifts after it is over. When is it over? March 20. And even then, Mercury is in the shadow of the retrograde, meaning it has not passed the point at which it went retrograde for a little longer.
Old lovers return, resumes get interviews, houses for sale get offers, but these things are more like loose ends than something tangible. Generally, they disappear at the end of the retrograde. Then something more tangible occurs.
Secrets are often revealed on a retrograde, so perhaps even more scandals concerning Epstein will appear.
Hang loose, try to avoid major purchases or contract signing if you can avoid it - if you can't, take the fine print really seriously.
Mercury goes retrograde 3 or 4 times a year, so it is not rare. And because it is a natural occurrence, it is not a bad thing if sometimes an inconvenient thing.
