People, particularly women, speak up and want to be heard. This can be disturbing and hard to take for the more traditional types. Ultra conservatives act in ways that look dated now. There is a new sheriff in town, smart and capable, and they are demanding the freedom to let their voice be heard. The more progressive voices are coming into their own power - it has not reached full flower and will face some stiff opposition from those in charge now who do not want to yield any power to anyone.

But the times are changing, not without pain in the process, and there is no putting the genie back in the bottle once it has been let out. Ignoring this reality, some will cling to their own power, even as it becomes a hollow shell. It is time to let go and let others be heard, especially because so much is no longer working.
