Astrology for the Week of July 3
Happy Birthday to you, United States of America! You have had a rocky road of late, and last week's Supreme Court decisions on student loans, affirmative action, the public right to serve a protected class of citizens in any public business, and State's rights, has not helped smooth the way at all. Instead, we are getting a good taste of what an authoritarian, radical right wing agenda (see all comments on transiting Uranus in Taurus) looks like. The advantage here is that we, the majority of persons living in the United Sates would prefer a federal government that governs for the good of the people - using its power to bring equity to racial and gender equality.
Fortunately, that last sentence sounds a lot like Pluto in Aquarius. We are currently in a transition period between Pluto in Capricorn (where Pluto has resided since the financial fiasco of 2008) and Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto left Aquarius temporarily on June 11 and is now at 29 degrees Capricorn. Hence, we are seeing the legacy of the Trump years, currently through a Supreme Court lens. We are going to see secrets of executive malfeasance (and judicial) continue to be uncovered during Pluto's residency in Capricorn - until January, 2024. In 2024, Pluto will again retrograde back into Capricorn for the final months of the Presidential campaign, before going into Aquarian territory in November, 2024 until 2044 (yes, that long).
Honestly, last week, I said the end of the week was a time to watch out for, but I was still surprised!
There are some silver linings. Sometimes you have to see, in really concrete terms, what you DON'T want before choosing something better. I think that is happening. Also, Pluto is moving (eventually) into Aquarius. In mundane terms, Aquarius or the 11th house, is Congress. Pluto takes out the garbage - what we no longer need. Since Aquarius signifies power of individuals, I think reform, another good Plutonian word, is coming to Congress. In Capricorn, Pluto revealed corruption in the Executive Branch. When Pluto occupies Aquarius, I am sure we will see the shadow side of democratic politics - which is okay so long as Democracy flourishes (different from party affiliation). The judiciary is more a Sagittarius-Ninth house thing. And the rule of the judiciary, Jupiter, is in the conservative earth sign Taurus (not that all Tauruses are right wingers - far from it!).
If you have planets within the last five degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra, or the first five degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, you may be feeling these movements more acutely, more personally, than others.
