Astrology for the Weekend - October 8 & 9
On Saturday, transiting Pluto in Capricorn is in a powerful place, sitting virtually still, as it lumbers around to go to direct motion. It has been in apparent backward motion since the end of April - a time when secrets are uncovered. I believe the stolen documents that went to Mar Lago, and who knows where else, fit the bill. Pluto will resume direct motion tomorrow. Pluto is ready to take the actions uncovered by the Executive Branch and demand accountability.
All year, transiting Uranus in Taurus has been squaring Saturn in Aquarius. Now that square has tightened. Saturn in Aquarius demands new definitions and rules for new technologies. Uranus in Taurus represents how "normal" institutions must.now accommodate the reality (good Saturn word) new technologies created. Accordingly, President Biden's administration is offering up new definitions - non-binding and not punishable - by creating the Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights. Also, I got this from a news digest:
The Biden administration published a sweeping set of new rules Friday to limit sales of certain semiconductor chips to China, including restricting graphics processing units used to power artificial intelligence applications. Observers say the action is the latest step in US efforts to slow China's technology and military advances."
Biden seems to want the "rule of law" to extend to new and emerging technologies, so they are not abused. As in law enforcement using facial recognition technology to make arrests. The North Node of the Moon - a point of destiny - is now conjunct Uranus in Taurus, so it is time for these rules to be considered. Their karma has ripened.
October 9 will see a full moon in Aries about 5 pm EDT. Libra is about finding balance. Aries is about developing one's identity. The "we are" meets the challenge of the "I am". How much of yourself do you want to compromise to be in relationship with another? How much should you compromise for your significant other? This applies on the personal level and the world stage (allies).
The Sun in Libra is conjunct the planet Venus, amping up the desire to be in relationship. And the Sun is part of a big trine. The other two points in this trine are Saturn in Aquarius - the planet that draws limits and definitions- and Mars in Gemini - that rules actions, words and curiosity.
The Sun in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn. On the world stage or at home, the Leader has to face down the shadows that belong to powerful institutions - patriarchy, racism, homophobia, or just your loved one's desire to be in control.
The Moon in Aries has been joined, almost exactly, by Chiron in Aries. Chiron asks where one needs to be healed or where once can offer healing. With the Moon next to Chiron, the Sun/Venus opposite can see the emotional toll. The Moon is also about women and motherhood. Since the ending of Roe v Wade, the rights of women have been under attack. Some states don't want to make an exception about abortion even if the life of the mother is at stake.
In a larger sense, the Moon represents the will of the people. They need an identity. Americans? Political partisans? Authoritarians? Who are we and who do we aspire to be? Before the midterm elections, these are good questions to consider.
