Astrology for Wednesday, October 20: Aries Full Moon!

The moon is full today, with the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries. A full moon gives us a clear look at the balance between the two major lights in our sky. We also see clearly what was begun at the time of the Aries New Moon on April 11, 2021.

Any opposition of Aries and Libra brings in finding a balance between asserting oneself and compromising for the sake a partnership. The

Sun brings in a question of identity - who am I alone and who am I in partnership? The Moon in Aries has strong feelings that are triggered by the demands of partnership. So, the opposition of love and self; peace and diplomacy and assertion or aggression are seeking a balance so the needs of self and the partner are respected.

Pluto in Capricorn is square both the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries. Some call Pluto the garbageman of the zodiac because he removes our psychic trash - stuff we no longer need, but may want to keep around. Change can be painful, but Pluto liberates us from being imprisoned by old habits. So in this dance between self and the other, some hard, but necessary decisions might be called for. With Pluto in Capricorn, dominance and authority would get a negative emotional reaction.

A good way to negotiate this full Moon is to get a heaping helping of the only Cardinal sign not represented - Cancer. Being emotionally sensitive, caring and nurturing. Keeping those feelings in mind help the navigation between giving the partner too much or becoming self-centered.

Mars in Libra conjunct the Sun in Libra and Eris conjunct the Moon in Aries, ramp up the ante for all the planets involved, including Pluto. Think it through, don't act on the first rash impulse you feel. If you move rashly, it is easy to see how angry feelings could result.

This has been an eventful week, and it is only half over! Monday saw Mercury station direct, lumbering around to change from its retrograde motion to direct, forward motion. The planet Jupiter, which has been traveling retrograde since the Summer Solstice, did the same. Now that things are moving forward, some of the frustration, blockage or delay may be going away, too.

One note of caution, however, Mercury will not pass the point where it originally went retrograde until the first week of November. There may be a little funkiness in dealing with communication devices, etc., until then, but by and large, the kinks are being straightened out.
