Astrology of Friday, January, 2021 - Happy New Year!

Yes, 2020 is over (Yay!) although its issues are not resolved. There are some easy aspects today and some difficult ones. Let's start with the easy. Venus in Sagittarius is trine the Moon in Leo and trine Mars/Eris in Aries. There is a good balance between rest and action, between men and women, between feelings and the impulse to act too rashly. Some may choose to beautify their surroundings or to make love. Both are nice!

However, all is not beer and skittles. There is an inconjunct aspect between the Moon in Leo and the Sun in Capricorn. Think of Trump, current President, as the current Sun of our solar system. His actions are fueled by the wealthy gents and women (Venus in Sagittarius conjunct South Node in Sagittarius) who back them, and their lack of compassion for the needs of the people. A little thing like 340,000 dead fro Covid? Massive unemployment? Toss them a $600 bone and then let them eat cake.

Also, the Moon in Leo is part of a t-square, a serious blockage of energy between Jupiter/Saturn in Aquarius, and Uranus in Taurus. These are fixed signs who may see a shared problem, but come at solving it from totally different perspectives. If you have planets in early degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, you may feel the tension in your personal life. The new and the old are in disagreement about how to handle a problem.

There is also a Grand Cross between Neptune in Pisces, Venus/South Node in Sagittarius, the North Node of the Moon and the asteroid Vesta (loyalty to keeping the eternal flame burning). For this one, if you have planets in the mid degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo or Gemini, you may feel the tension, too. With Neptune present, there may be some secret agenda. With the Nodes of the Moon involved, the results may feel quite karmic as actors in this piece begin to reap what they have sown.

This last Grand Cross seems very representative of the difficulties hospital are facing and the karmic backlash for allowing this to become so politicized and severe. Virgo represents health care workers that bravely, exhaustedly, are fighting this pandemic even as they see hospital beds fill up to and beyond capacity. The vaccine rollout has been slow, mostly because Trump's plan was, as usual, to let States handle the distribution - with very little funds to do so. Virgo should be a strength in this area, because that sign knows how to make a plan and execute it.
