Leo Sun, Aquarius Moon - Full Moon August 1

We are in Leo season. Can I hear a roar of appreciation? It is a great time to let the Sun, Leo's ruler, shine in your personal life. Find your joy, your creativity. So long as you don't eclipse anyone else's sun (ego), you are doing fine! Everyone needs their time in the limelight.

On Tuesday, August 1, we have our first Full Moon of the month, in the sign Aquarius. The Sun and Moon oppose one another, and Jupiter in Taurus is square both the Sunni Leo and Moon in Aquarius. The square to Jupiter suggest something needs to change so that you can grow. And under the light of the full moon, it is easier to see what that change might need to look like.

Venus (relationships) is retrograde in Leo for 40 days, until September 3, a total of 40 days. It is a sacred number of time spent in contemplation, like Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness. You may have heard about Mercury retrograde. All planets, except the Sun and Moon, go retrograde. The meaning is always similar - a planet is going over old ground, reviewing, re-editing, reconsidering. With the theme of the full moon in mind, it isn't a stretch to say that we might be reconsidering our role in relationship, wanting to make different choices and to rise to new opportunities.

Furthermore, Venus is at the trigger point of a yod - inconjuncting (adjusting) to two serious planets - Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn. These intense planets suggest that the way you wish to change in relationship is pretty transformative. You may have been seduced by the glamorous aspects of relationship, but Pluto investigates things thoroughly to find the truth.

This doesn't suggest that you need to break off a relationship unless things were already rocky - or maybe, you just need to change those outmoded concepts about how you behave with an important person for something that is more authentic and relevant.

The nodes of the moon have changed signs, too, from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra. This change takes place every 18 months, so it isn't rare. However, it does signal a change in the collective thought. Taurus was the north node's sign, and Taurus is ruled by Venus. Now, Venus rules the south node in the sign Libra. That will be the subject of another post, but it is quite interesting.
